The 101st Pendleton Roundup Poster is a unique treasure, born of a humble and grateful heart that desired to honor all those in uniform, from past to present, who sacrificed so dearly for the freedoms we enjoy each day. This story begins with a courageous soldier, and ends with the images depicted in the poster above… Army Ranger Leroy Petry was honored at the White House in a very rare ceremony to present him with the Medal of Honor---Rare because Ranger Petry is one of only two living Americans to receive such a prestigious award. We spoke of the 9/11 tribute at the Pendleton Roundup, and the poster I was designing for the event. He followed through in sending me some poignant pictures of our men on the front lines in Iraq, one of which beautifully displayed an American Flag proudly flown in memory of those lost on a fateful day, the words “Never Forget 9/11” waving in the wind.
